πŸ”— Reconnecting LinkedIn After Cookie Expiration

P
Written by Prosp Support

If your LinkedIn cookie keeps expiring and your account won't stay connected, the fix is almost always 2FA. Here's the cleanest path to a stable reconnection.

⚠️ Why Your Cookie Keeps Expiring

There are two common causes:

  • Using LinkedIn in the same browser as Prosp. If you connected via the extension and then use LinkedIn in the same browser, the session conflicts and the cookie drops. Use LinkedIn in a different browser or in the LinkedIn mobile app.

  • Sending volume too high. If your daily limit across all running campaigns exceeds the recommended threshold, LinkedIn will end your session more aggressively.

If neither applies and the cookie still won't reconnect, enable 2FA β€” that's the single biggest fix.

⏸️ Before You Reconnect: Reduce Campaign Frequency

Important: Before reconnecting your account, reduce the number of active campaigns or lower your daily sending limits. If you reconnect while your campaigns are still set to high volume, your cookie will likely expire again within hours.

  1. Go to your Campaigns page and pause all active campaigns.

  2. Lower the daily connection request limit on each campaign (e.g. set each to 5–10 instead of 20+).

  3. Reconnect your account (steps below).

  4. Once connected, resume campaigns one at a time and gradually increase limits over 2–3 days.

πŸ” Step 1: Enable 2FA on LinkedIn

Before reconnecting in Prosp, make sure 2FA is on.

  1. Log in to LinkedIn directly (in a different browser from Prosp, or on the LinkedIn app).

  2. Go to Settings & Privacy > Sign in & security > Two-step verification.

  3. Turn on Two-step verification with either the Authenticator App or Phone number method.

  4. If 2FA was already enabled and you're still getting errors, turn it off and back on β€” this resets verification on LinkedIn's side and clears most reconnection issues.

πŸ”„ Step 2: Reconnect via Credentials

Once 2FA is enabled, reconnect the account.

  1. In Prosp, go to Settings > Accounts.

  2. Click the 3 dots next to the disconnected LinkedIn account and choose Disconnect (if it isn't already).

  3. Click Connect Account and choose the Credentials method.

  4. Double-check that your LinkedIn email and password are correct before submitting β€” incorrect credentials are a common cause of "wrong credentials" errors. When LinkedIn asks for the 2FA code, enter the code from your authenticator app or SMS.

  5. Wait for the green Connected status. Your campaigns will resume automatically.

πŸ†˜ If It Still Won't Reconnect

  1. Switch your proxy to the United States in Settings, reconnect the account, then switch back to your preferred country.

  2. Try the Cookie method instead of Credentials β€” it's sometimes smoother when LinkedIn is being aggressive.

  3. Make sure you're respecting the recommended daily sending limits across all your campaigns combined.

If none of those work, send your workspace URL to support and we'll take a look.
